To the South of Zanzibar lies a great natural wonder - Jozani National Park which covers about 50 sq km and is one of the few remaining rain forests in East Africa.
From tales of the infamous Zanzibar Leopards to curing plants and the nature trail lined with red mahogany trees, eucalyptus and different types of palms. Your guide will explain and demonstrate how for many years local women have used palm leaves for weaving, you will hear about medicinal properties of different plants and leaves. On the other side of the park you are welcomed by troops of Red Colobus Monkeys jumping from one branch to another in search of young leaves for food and moisture as they do not drink water. You will walk through the abundantly green swamp forest and the uniquely designed wooden boardwalk in the mangroves, depending on low or high tide you might see colorful crabs or little fish. The Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys almost always await you here and countless photos, they are adorable with cute faces and a really long tail, they move in large numbers of 20-30. Well, a small note: expect them to monkey around, after all, they are monkeys!
